Fourth week of August 2021

This week was very boring. Brookfield Infrastructure and Inter Pipeline merge happened but something went wrong in our portfolio and we asked clarification from our broker. We are sure that this will be sorted out shortly. In short, we received too small amount of Brookfield Infrastructure shares, and we received more CAD than we expected. Also our portfolio now has unexpected USD debt which matches to purchasing the stocks we received and we are missing CAD matching the price of the received stocks.

We did not make any transactions this week and we received only following dividends:

Total amount of dividends this week was 67,06 and so far this month 333,85€. We are still expecting to receive the usual dividends on last day of the month, but we will fall short of our monthly target as expected.

3rd week of August 2021

Our week was pretty uneventful. We received small amount of dividends and reinvested some money.

This week we made following transactions:

And we received following dividends:

Our this week's dividends were 79,18 €. So week was pretty weak. Our total amount in August is 266,79 € so far. It seems that August and November will be our weakest months this year.

Second week of August 2021

This week was pretty quiet dividendwise. So we spent some time restructuring our portfolios. We sold some of the tiny positions and increased some others. The reason for this is upcoming increase of the transaction fees by our bank. This way we can keep our transactional fees reasonable. This price increase is inconvienient, since it was very nice to be able to reinvest dividends right away and get new companies "under the radar" by buying them to portfolio.

This week we also approved Brookfield Infrastructure Partners offer of buying Inter Pipeline. We opted for receiving BIPC shares instead of cash. Unfortunately we will lose one of our monthly paying stocks.

We made following transactions (prices includes fees):

Net effect to the dividend income in 2022 is approximately 87,87 €.

We received following dividends:

Total amount of dividends received this week was 77,84 € and total in August so far is 167,28 €.

First week of August 2021

A new has month started. We do not expect to reach our monthly goal this month since we sold most of our AT&T positions earlier. We will most likely receive around 350 € during August.

Our month started as usual our regular investment loan payback. We paid  510,50 € principal and 15,05 interests and fees.

Main Street Capital announced the dividend increase of 0,005 USD. This will increase our 2022 dividend income by 10,31 €

We were active this week and made some changes to our positions:

  • Sold 1 share of Kesko @33,51. We realised 5,43 profit, and this will decrease our 2022 dividends by 0,56 €
  • Sold 15 shares of Capman @3,06866. We realised 5,53 € profit and this will decrease dividends in y22 by 0,22€
  • Bought 1 share of Sampo @42,99 €. This will increase our y22 income by 1,26 €
  • Bought 4 shares of Main Street Capital @41,7433 USD. This will increase our y22 income by 7,11 €
  • Bought 14 shares of Sampo @41,895 €. This will increase our y22 income by 23,80 €
  • Sold 110 shares of Cibus Nordic Real Estate @233,8586 SEK. We realised 716,58 € profit and this will decrease our y22 income by 89,76 €.

The Cibus stock price went up so much that we felt it is too expensive and decided to reduce our position heavily. We do have alert on stock price so we get back to it when it is at the right level. We will open new position in another company next week when we have transferred the money to another broker. Net effect of our activity to dividends in 2022 was -48,06 €.

We received following dividends:

  • 44,68 € from AT&T
  • 44,76 € from Verizon

So we received total of 89,44 € dividends.

Last week of July 2021

It was a pretty good ending for a month. We made one purchase, we bought 79 shares of Aktia Bank Oyj @11,82127 €. We are not sure how much this purchase will increase our 2022 dividend income, but Aktia will pay 0,43 €  in 2021 after the dividend ban is removed by ECB. We expect the dividend to be around the same level also in 2022. This would mean 33,97 € increase to yearly income. We might increase our position later on.

We received following dividends:

Total amount of dividends in last week was 83,53 and in July was 558,21 €. So we met the monthly target of 525 €. We expect that we will not meet the monthly target in August due to reducing our position in AT&T. Luckily our cumulative income already exceeds the needed amount after August.

Third week of July 2021

We were on vacation and we haven't followed market a lot, so we do not know what has happened in our portfolio except the dividends received. We did not have any other activities this week.

We received following dividends:

  • 0,59 € from Prospect Capital Corp
  • 8,32 € from Apollo Investment Corp
  • 1 share from Apollo Investment Corp DRIP worth of 23,11 €
  • 25,45 € from Trancontinental Inc
  • 1 share from Main Street Capital drip worth of 34,23
  • -2,54 as witheld taxes from Main Street Capital DRIP
  • 28,68 from Simon Property Group.

Total amount of dividends this week was  117,84 €.

second week of July 2021

This week was pretty ordinary. We made a couple of purchases, received a few dividends. Duke Energy announced dividend increase of 0,02 USD per share. This will increase our yearly dividend income by 5,64 €. In order to receive same amount without the dividend hike we would have needed to invest 176,60 € new capital to Duke Energy.

We bought:

Wallgreens Boots Alliance will increase our expected dividend income  by 37,70 € in 2022 and 18,86 € in 2021. We are expecting Citycon to contribute 9 € to 2022 income and 4,5 € 2021 income.

Current estimation shows that we are 950 € short from 2022 dividend goal. This is quite substantial amount and would mean that we need to invest approximately 32 000 € new capital to reach the goal if there is no changes in dividends. To meet the goal we really need more dividend increases.

We received following dividends:

Total amount of dividends this week was 185,46 €. Our total passive income in July is now 364,32 €.

First full week of July 2021

It was a quite uneventful week. We managed to make a few small purchases and received some dividends.

This week we made some calculations and we are pretty confident that we will meet our target with flying colours without increasing the capital. We decided to set target for 2022 and we move focus to building year 2022 dividend income portfolio. We increased our target by 38% to 8700 € passive income for 2022. With steady pace that would mean 725 € monthly passive income stream. Our median monthly passive income is now 658,77 € so increase is ambitious. In order to meet the target, we should increase our invested capital around 40 000 €. Luckily we have already opened new positions which will have full effect in 2022 and dividend increases will hopefully help us to reach the new target.

This week we bought:

These purchases will increase our 2021 dividend income approximately by 1,82 € and 2022 dividend income by 5,88 €.

We received following dividends:

Total amount of dividends was 73,36 € in this week and  178,86 € in July.

Our portfolio grows to right direction. We pay back our investment loans marginally faster than planned. The reason for this is that we like to round up the loan payments to nice even numbers. The value of shares has developed in the right direction.

This week we paid our monthly investment loan installments. We paid 22,51 € interests and fees and 503,05 € principal.

We did made some purchases:

These purchases will increase our 2021 dividend income approximately by 35 €.

This week we received following dividends;

This totals up to 150,67 €. This means that total dividend income in June was 710,16 € which is second best in 2021 so far and almost double what we received in June 2020. July dividends are now at 150,50 €.

Midsummer 2021

It is Midsummer fest. So nothing happens today and that's why update comes a day earlier than usual. Again it was a very satisfying week with activity almost every day. We had maintenance time for our cars, so we spent some of the cash we received from selling AT&T and reinvested rest of the cash.

We bought 33 shares of Gilead Sciences @67,15152 USD. This will increase our 2021 dividend income by 31,60 €.  Also Simon Property Group annouced dividend increase. This increase means approximately 4 € increase to 2021 dividends.

We received following dividends:

Dividend amount this week's was 127,87 €. It seems that June will be this year's second best month so far, which is pretty good since summer months have been bad months earlier in dividendwise.
