First week of May

We received bad news in the first week of May. Sampo announced that board has changed the suggested dividend down to 1.50 € per share. This will cut our predicted dividend income by 91,52€.

As usual, we had our investment loan payback time. We paid 213 € principal and 2,74 interests and fees. Our investment loan is now so small that we are considering taking another one and we have had preliminary discussions with our bank. The interest rate they promised seems to be decent.

We reinvested some of our dividends and at the same time put some of our "own money" in. On 4th of May we bought 6 shares of Pepsico @130,69 USD. This will increase our predicted dividend income by 14 € this year. At the same time we also bought 5 shares of AT&T @29,58 USD. This will increase our predicted dividend income by 4 € this year.  We also received 28,60 € cashback which was automatically transferred to funds.

Weekly dividends were:

  • 102,77 € from AT&T on Monday
  • 47,66 € from Verizon on Monday
  • 61,46 € from Fortum on Tuesday
All dividends are net sums paid to our accounts.

Our dividend income is now 211,89  € in May and 1987,69 € YTD. It seems hard to reach our goal this month, but we are not giving up. Instead we try to strengthen our portfolio so that we can get more income later this year.

Last week of April

Last week was quiet. Only 3 dividends arrived and we did not make any purchases.

On 28th of April we received 8,80 € from Msc Industrial Direct Co after taxes and fees deducted.
On the last day of April we received dividends from following companies:
Our April dividend income was 385,76. A lot less than expected, but not as bad it could had been. We are just barely on track to reach our this year target. We should be ahead now since rest of the year is usually a lot worse than the first 5 months. So far we have accumulated 1775,80 € passive income this year.

4th week of April

Last full week of April is now behind. A very quiet week. We received dividends from 3 companies and reinvested remaining dividends.

On Tuesday we bought 4 shares of Southern Co @55,82 USD. Apollo Investment Corporation dividends finally arrived. We received 6 shares from DRIP @7,20 USD and we paid 3,76 € taxes. Net dividend income from Apollo was totally 34,93 €. We received 21,16 € dividends from Main Street Capital so all the dividends which were late finally arrived to our accounts.

On Friday we received 28,60 AUD dividends from Clime capital which is approximately 16,87 €.

Our April dividend income so far is 353,39 € , which is a lot less than we expected. This is due a coronavirus. All of the expected money is not lost, at least not yet, only delayed. We are still expecting to receive approximately 30 € in April so we should keep on track to reach our this year's goal. With steady pace we should have collected 1768€ by end of the April and we have now collected 1743,40 €.

3rd week of April

Usually middle of the month is good for us. Most of our dividends come in middle of the month. Even though Covid-19 has affected heavily our dividend income, we managed to get decent amount of dividends.

Otherwise activity has been low as we are short of investment funds at the moment. We have pretty much invested all our dividends back to stocks, so we are now waiting more dividends to arrive. This week following dividends arrived.

On 14th of April we received 45,46 € from Telia.

On 15th of April we received dividends from following companies:
Seems like Main Street Capital dividends failed to arrive on 15th of April. We have to write yet another complaint to our bank. We are still waiting one dividend which should have arrived 6th of April. Our bank annouced that they have some problems with their systems and they sent us a small compensation

This month should have been our best dividend month but it turned to be the worst so far. We are expecting to receive approximately 50 € dividends during the last two weeks of the month and we are still waiting approximately 50 € earlier paid dividends due to the bank problems. Dividend income in April will be between 330 € and 380 €. At least it will be more than in 2018. If we manage to receive all dividends due this month we will stay on track to reach our this year's goal. April itself will fall below the monthly target. We must work hard to increase our dividend income in the future since there are many weak months ahead.
