4th week of March

A quiet week again. Some bad news arrived, but we were expecting them. We might still meet our monthly target.

Last week Taaleri postponed General Meeting and thus dividends were postoponed. Otherwise dividends would had been paid this week.

Apple Hospitality REIT suspended its dividend payment due the COVID-19. This will cut our this year expected dividend income approximately by 90 €.  

Telia announced dividend cut proposal for General Meeting due the coronavirus cutting this year's media- and entertainment income. New proposed dividend is 1.80 SEK instead the earlier announced 2,36 SEK. Dididend cut is 23,7%. This will lower our expected dividend income by approximately 27,85 €.

Nordea postponed General Meeting, so possible dividends are postponed too. Also Sampo postponed General Meeting.

It is a shame that General Meetings are still only held old fashioned ways. We have all the technology needed to have totally virtual meetings. We just haven't adopted those.

Fortunately we still received some dividends. We received 45,83 € dividends from Blackrock after taxes and fees deducted. We still need to get 47,58, and we are still expecting approximately 50 € dividends to come. So it's a close call if we reach the target or not.

3rd week of March

This time of month is always pretty dull. Nothing much happens on our investment life. We are short of investment money, not so many dividend payers. Still some good news arrived to us.

Transcontinental announced dividend increase in end of February, but we did not notice it back then. This hike will increase our this year dividend income approximately by 5 €.

On Tuesday Realty Income Reit announced dividend increase. This will increase our this year dividend income approximately by 0,35 €.

Again we bought small amount of shares this week. On Monday we bought 11 shares of Sampo @22,4827 €. This will contribute around 18 € after taxes deducted to this year dividend income.


We received dividends from following companies:

On Monday we received:

• 28,70 € from Duke Energy after taxes and fees deducted
• 36,46 CAD from Inter Pipeline Ltd which is around 23,42 € after taxes
• 11,04 USD from Apple Hospitality Reit which is around 9,90 € after taxes
• 29,69 € from Monmount Real Estate Investment Corp after taxes and fees deducted

On Friday we receive 8,88€ from Dominion Energy after taxes and fees deducted. 

These sum up to 100,59 € dividend income received this week. Total amount of passive income in March so far has been 348,59. We most likely will meet our mothly target of 442 € in March. Due the COVID-19, our April target is in danger, since many companies which should be paying us dividend in April have postponed general meetings. This means that also the dividend payments will be postponed.

2nd week of March

Markets are really volatile at the moment and value of the portfolio has declined dramatically. Still we are not worried, because we do not have immediate need for money. There have not been any news about dividend cuts, at least yet.

We checked our bookkeeping and balances of our accounts and we noticed there was 0,04 CAD difference. The reason was we forgot to record our last month interest income. February interests were paid to us last week's Friday. This is 0,03 €.

We did have a quiet week, since we are short of investment cash, but still we managed to make one transaction. We reinvested some of the dividends. We bought 5 shares of Nordea @5,646 € on Thursday.

This week we received dividends from following companies:

• On Tuesday we received 13,46 € from Johnson & Johnson after taxes and fees deducted
• On Tuesday we received 12,97 € from Exxon Mobil after taxes and fees deducted
• On Friday we received 20,48 € from Main Street Capital after taxes and fees deducted
• On Friday we received 50,33 € from Whitestone REIT after taxes and fees deducted
• On Friday we received 17,59 € from Realty Income REIT after taxes and fees deducted
• On Friday we received 16,15 CAD from Exchange Income Corp after taxes, which is approximately 10,44 €

So total amount of  dividends were 125,27 €+ 0,03€ from last week interests. Now our March dividend income has surpassed March 2019 dividend income. March 2020 passive income is now  248 €. To meet our monthly target we still need 194 € passive income. Our year 2020 cumulative passive income is now 1192,92 €.

First week of March

New month started and we had our investment loan payback time. We paid back 213 € principal and 2,30 € fees.

Although corona virus is affecting the prices heavily we were buying.  On 2nd of March we bought 35 shares of Telia @37,90 SEK, 4th of March 22 shares of Nordea @7,2760 € and 5 th of March 2 shares of Exxon Mobil Corp @49,95 USD. These will increase our expected dividend income 6,84 €, 6,56€ and 3,99 € for the year 2020.

On the first week of March we received dividends from following companies:

• 2nd of March Canadian Utilities 33,31 CAD, which is 22,37 €
• 5th of March KONE 88,65 €. 
• 6th of March Southern Co 13,18 USD, which is 11,69 €

Now we have accumulated  122,71 € dividends in March and 1067,63 € in 2020. March dividends are now almost half of amount we received in March 2019.
